Long time gone!
Been a long time since I have blogged. We have had a very busy month and a half... maybe longer! My youngest child, Andrew got married in June to the beautiful Kelly. We had lots of family and friends in town, lots of eating, drinking and merry making. When the newlyweds left on their honeymoon, Joanna and Margot hung around for an extra week here in Nebraska and then I got on a plane with the two of them and spent 10 days in Tacoma. I got to me a part-time nanny for my granddaughter. It was fantastic spending so much time with her. Way too much going on with the wedding to find the time to blog and then...Let's see...to blog or spend every minute possible with Margot...never really asked that question. I really haven't thought about the blog since pre-wedding.
I have a lot of catching up to do. But for now I will leave you with my fav photo, with promises to post wedding and family pics soon as well.
Gotta say that this is an awesome time. Being a grandma, being awed by my grown, wonderful children and the fantastic people they have chosen to spend their lives with. Makes me a very proud mamma! God has blessed us greatly.

Quit Facebook today.
Bede and I tried , mostly due to the fact that family seems to pass along info that way, and pictures. Bede never really was interested and rarely checked it out. I lurked occasionally, but never really participated. We began to realize that there was very little actual family info and just a few pics.
Can't stand all the little games and does anyone really care what food you are or if you were a tree would you be an oak or willow....I think Barbara Walters asked some movie star that many years ago...
John says" I'm making toast"... Susie says " really liked laying in the sun today"
AAAAGGGGHHHHH...Make toast, lay in the sun, do whatever you like, but why do people feel the need to tell the world about every mundane aspect of their lives...
(She says as she blogs about hating facebook) Just a little irony here, I'll admit!
All those applications are really just ploys to get your information and use it for their own profit...SPAM.
We got tired of Facebook "suggesting" we be friends with people just because they knew someone we knew. I don't know these people, I'll make my own friends, thank you very much.
If Facebook was so smart it would know that I don't really want to be friends with very many people. I like my semi isolation, always have. Even if I do really like you, I don't need to know what planet you would be, and I don't want to see your cartoon alter ego.
I know, I'm old and crabby...but it all seems just a little stupid and a too much like High School. So we're out. From what I understand we will never be actually deleted from Facebook, as they keep the info forever...
