Hmmm...

For those pondering how to get to their next travel destination think about this bit of info I found at stunning-stuff.com:

"Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes."

Mention that to your travel agent.

UFO sightings

More unexplained lights over Phoenix yesterday.

Why must we always assume they are alien space ships?

Maybe it's the Bolivian priest who disappeard while trying to break a record of flying with balloons....He took off and has not been seen again....

Long,Long Day...

Still so far to go....

It's Tuesday...only 10:30am. Feels like it should be 10:30pm. Just one of those days when everthing happens at once and none of it is good!

I keep hitting the ESCAPE key...But I'm still here.

Red Light Green Light

Red means STOP, green means GO, yellow means GO like Hell!
Not any more. I decided today to change that way of thinking, at least personally. While I was out driving for work I noticed how many drivers try to beat the red light even though they know it had been yellow for some time. Twice, while at a stop light that just turned green, cars continued through on the red. It may have been yellow when they were a block away, but that doesn't count. I have done it, you have done it. But I'm not going to do it anymore. Stop, take that extra 20 seconds. Take time to look around, relax, you really will get to where you are going almost as fast. It's just not important enough to take the chance.

Next time you're out and about, take notice of the action at intersections, and take your time.

Spring comes to Nebraska...Finally!!!

It's a beautiful day here today. Right now, 76 degrees. Sunny, blue skies, the trees are budding, bulbs are blooming. Another couple of days like this and I might just be able to forget the cold, cold snowy winter...maybe.

It is just a tad windy though. But I'll take it. It's hard to feel anything but happy on a day like today.

(This is not our beloved, late Scooter, just a look a like, although not nearly as cute).

What did your son do today?

When I talk to other moms I know and we discuss our children, it's usually the same old stuff...but today I can say My son did this!

News from Guam

Bede Jr. emailed from Guam today with lots of awesome photos. He just returned from a mission and all went well. I wanted to share with all of you his pictures and I will try to keep everyone updated on news and events in our most exciting life. (Read that with a great deal of sarcasm). Bede Jr. did call this week to let us know he will deploy to Kirkuk, Iraq in Nov. of this year. He will be a flight instructor. training the Iraqi Air Force. It will be a year long deployment. He is excited about it. He asked to go. I am pleased for him and extremely proud. But as his mother...well that's a different story. Keep him in your prayers, please.

Joanna just had her wisdom teeth extracted last Friday. I returned to my "mother" role and went to KC to help her out. All went well and she is doing fine. I took a video of her with my phone post op as she was coming out of the anesthesia. Fortunately for her it wasn't saved. So the memory of her telling me the same story at least 6 times will have to remain only in my head... It had something to do with her shoes and how much the dentist liked them... Of course her mouth was stuffed with gauze at the time as well, so her words were slurred and hard to distinguish, but that didn't keep her from talking. She felt well enough the next day to do a little shopping.
Enjoy the photos from Guam. I will try to keep this post updated often.
